A two-sided laundry marketplace connecting customers, independent washer partners and operational admins, with subscription plans, payment, order management and an investor-facing surface. I designed the nine-page suite — 718 top-level nodes — comprising a 401-child master product page, a 70-node customer mobile flow, a 55-node washer-partner flow and a 44-node investor landing suite. A UI/UX design credit; I did not build or operate the marketplace.

UI/UX designer for an on-demand laundry and dry-cleaning gig-economy marketplace connecting urban consumers with independent washing partners (Lavadeiras) and operational administrators. Authored 718 total top-level nodes across nine Figma pages, including a 401-node master product suite, dedicated 70-node consumer mobile app, 55-node partner washer app, and a 44-node investor relations pitch landing page.

Agency engagement at Sagitta delivering up to March 3, 2024. Benchmarked against US and Brazilian leaders Rinse and Washout. Built to deliver an Uber-like service model for home laundry in Brazil: customer scheduling and recurring subscription tiers on one side, independent washer onboarding, order queues, and supplies logistics on the other, backed by investor fundraising materials.

Two-sided gig economy: consumer convenience meets partner enablement

On-demand laundry logistics present unique marketplace friction. Unlike ride-hailing or food delivery, laundry turnaround spans multiple days and involves variable garment weights, delicate fabric treatments, and physical detergent supplies. Inspired by global pioneers like Rinse and local player Washout, Alva Lavanderia was structured as a decentralized gig-economy network where urban households outsource weekly laundry to certified home washers.

The partner washer mobile experience: onboarding, queues, and supplies

A gig-economy marketplace collapses if service partners are unsupported. On the dedicated 55-node Lavadeira page, I designed a specialized partner mobile application focused on operational clarity:

  • 21-Screen Partner Onboarding & Vetting — Multi-stage registration funnel (Cadastro - Mobile 1–21) capturing personal identification, home laundry infrastructure, machine capacity, and sanitization verification.
  • Order Queue Management — Transparent order intake and status updates (Home - Mobile and Welcome - Mobile) with pickup/dropoff confirmations.
  • Supplies Inventory Tracking — Specialized tracking interface (Meus produtos - Mobile) enabling washers to monitor detergents, fabric softeners, and branded packaging provided by the network.
  • Earnings and Payment Overview — Clear accounting views showing completed wash batches and scheduled financial payouts.

Customer mobile app: subscriptions, scheduling, and card checkout

For urban consumers (70 nodes on the Cliente page), the focus was effortless subscription management. Users configure their profile (Seleção de perfil - Mobile), choose from seven recurring laundry subscription plans (Planos - Mobile) based on monthly bag quotas, enter pickup schedules, and complete payment via credit card (Pagamento - Cartão). The flow includes full customer support and FAQ integrations (Suporte-dúvidas frequentes).

The fundraising suite: investor landing page and unit economics

Beyond consumer interfaces, the project included a dedicated 44-node page named Landing Page Investidor. Built specifically for venture capital and angel presentations, this page translated Alva's business model into visual narrative: Total Addressable Market (TAM), bag unit economics, operational gross margin models, customer retention cohorts, and partner acquisition economics.

A two-sided marketplace is only as reliable as its partner experience. If the partner app doesn't make supply tracking and order queueing frictionless, the customer service promise falls apart.

Visual foundations and interactive components

The 35-child Style Guide page establishes a clean, water-inspired aesthetic: 10 local color styles spanning primary blues (1 primário #0071BD, 2 primário #39DBEA, 3 primário #23B4D8), translucent card overlays, and a linear cyan-to-navy gradient. The component system incorporates interactive slider components (ImageSlider, HeaderSlider), partner profile cards (card-lavadeira), and dual navigation bars for both marketing surfaces and web app environments.

Evidence

The marketplace launched into production and went live. However, the startup subsequently ceased operations and closed business (Instagram handle remains archived at @alvalavanderiaonline). No production metrics survive; the project demonstrates verified multi-surface gig-economy product design, partner vetting workflows, and investor pitch deck architecture.
