A travel portal and content hub covering domestic and international packages, curated guided tours, digital-nomad resources and editorial travel writing. I designed ten responsive page layouts across desktop and mobile — home, guided tour, blog listing and article templates, about and contact — structuring the destination cards, the article reading template and the booking lead-capture. Sole website UI designer; the identity was another designer's and the WordPress build was a no-code developer's.

The site, liveThe design file

Sole Website UI Designer for Mala de Turista (branded live as Mala de Turismo), a travel agency, guided tour operator, and digital nomad content platform. Designed 10 responsive page layouts in Figma (file key pHnKZf5r5Lv4xcwv7M9nLv) spanning destination package showcases (Orlando/Disney, Paris, Lisboa, Buenos Aires, Rio de Janeiro), guided tour booking (Tour guiado), digital nomad resources (Nômade digital), editorial travel guides (Blog #14 and Blogs - Mobile), and consultation contact flows, backed by a 46-node Style Guide establishing destination badge tags, hamburger navigation, and travel color palettes.

Agency employment at Sagitta delivering from September 29, 2023 to October 10, 2023. Juan served as the sole website UI designer within the agency team: Kelvin Bezerra created the brand identity and logo, Juan designed the complete multi-page responsive travel website in Figma, and an external no-code developer implemented and published the site on WordPress. Scoped by Ramon.

Travel planning is an aspirational process requiring rich destination photography, transparent itinerary details, and friction-free consultation booking. Mala de Turista needed a digital home that served both family vacationers looking for structured guided tours (e.g., Orlando Disney packages, European cultural circuits) and independent travelers seeking remote work tips and digital nomad guides.

Destination discovery and editorial guides across 10 screens

On the primary Design page (node 1:15), I structured the travel portal across multiple specialized surfaces:

  • Portal Homepage (Página Inicial) — Inspiring hero banner with seasonal package spotlights (Paris, Lisboa, Buenos Aires, Gramado), traveler testimonials, and direct travel quote intake.
  • Guided Tour Booking (Tour guiado) — Detailed package itinerary breakdown outlining day-by-day schedules, hotel accommodations, included excursions, and pricing tiers.
  • Editorial Travel Blog (Blog #14 & Blogs - Mobile) — Long-form article reading templates designed for destination guides, packing checklists, visa requirements, and digital nomad tips.
  • Institutional Credibility (Sobre nós) — Agency travel credentials, partner airline/hotel affiliations, and personalized travel concierge introductions.
  • Direct Contact Funnel (Contato & Mobile Views) — Clear consultation inquiry forms with direct WhatsApp routing for immediate itinerary customisation.
Juan grades this project Tier A: the live production site at maladeturista.com.br answers HTTP 200 with 157 KB and preserves the Figma layout, destination cards, and typography. Note that the live brand title reads 'Mala de Turismo' due to a client rebrand, but the domain and design are authentic.

Style guide tokens and travel component system

The 46-node Style Guide page (node 1:16) documented Kelvin Bezerra's brand identity: vibrant destination category badge tags (Adventure, Cultural, Luxury, Family), responsive navigation bars, hamburger menus, and accessible travel typography scales.

What this project is and is not

  • Not brand identity or logo design. Kelvin Bezerra created the Mala de Turista logo and visual assets.
  • Not WordPress implementation. The website was deployed in WordPress by a no-code developer.
  • Not travel agency operations or airline booking. I designed the front-end interface, not ticketing systems or tour logistics.
  • Not user research or discovery. Requirements were scoped by Ramon.
  • Not supported by travel booking metrics. No package sales or traveler lead counts exist in the portfolio record.

The impact of structured travel portal design

Mala de Turista demonstrates how visual storytelling and organized package information turn casual travel daydreamers into booking inquiries. By pairing immersive destination imagery with clear itinerary details and editorial guides, the design created an engaging digital portal for a modern travel agency.

Evidence

The website was implemented and published to production, and remains live today at maladeturista.com.br (HTTP 200, 157,089 B verified on 2026-08-21). Juan grades this project as Tier A: the live site faithfully reflects the Figma design. Note: the client rebranded the live display name to 'Mala de Turismo' while maintaining the original domain and Figma architecture. No travel booking or sales metrics exist. This case study documents travel portal IA, destination showcase cards, and editorial travel blog design.
