Brazil–Nigeria Remittance & FX Platform — Product and Brand
A two-role product designed mobile-first, plus the brand system behind it.

A cross-border remittance and FX product: transfers carrying a ten-frame compliance sequence, instant payments and QR, bill payment, top-up, statements, receipt sharing, and an FX order desk with per-corridor pricing. I designed the complete two-role product mobile-first — 302 children — plus the brand system: four logo variants, the colour system, typography, spacing, auxiliary elements and surface textures. Designed mobile-first and complete at that width; desktop was out of scope, so this is not a responsive-craft credit.

Cross-border remittance and currency-exchange (FX) fintech platform facilitating money movement between Brazil and Nigeria. 302 frames designed mobile-first across two complete user roles: a customer banking application (PIX send/QR, multi-corridor transfers with a 10-frame compliance check, bill payments, balance management, and receipt sharing) and an operations back office (FX order clearing with per-corridor pending/settled/cancelled queues, customer administration, and financial reporting).
Agency employment at Sagitta, delivering as sole designer across the entire product, brand identity, and marketing site. The project was conceived and designed mobile-first; desktop views were added subsequently as a layout resize rather than a redesign per managerial directive. Documented between June and September 2024.

Remittance corridors between emerging markets present severe operational friction. Fluctuating foreign exchange rates, local payment rails, anti-money-laundering (AML) compliance, and banking illiquidity demand specialized interfaces that give users absolute transparency while providing operations teams with rigorous transaction clearing tools.
The Customer app: dual-corridor transfers and Brazilian PIX
The customer application structures everyday banking alongside cross-border transfers:
- Cross-Border Corridors — Dedicated, first-class transfer paths for Brazil (Transferência/Brasil) and Nigeria (Transferência/Nigéria), featuring currency rate conversions and recipient routing.
- Ten-Frame Compliance Verification — A dedicated validation sequence (TransferenciaNigéria/check) guiding senders through identity checks, recipient bank verification, and purpose-of-transfer declarations.
- Full PIX Integration — Complete modeling of Brazil's instant payment rail (EnviarPix01–11, PixQRcode01), including dynamic QR generation, key lookup, and real-time confirmations.
- Bill Payments and Balance Management — Utility barcode scanning (Pagar 01–12), mobile top-ups (Recarga), insufficient funds handling (Saldo indisponível), and shareable transaction receipts (popupComprovante/Compartilhar).
The Operations back office: the FX clearing desk
The administrative application equips financial operators with real-time settlement mechanisms:
- Corridor-Segmented FX Desks — Real-time order queues split by market corridor and transaction status: pending, executed, and cancelled queues for Brazil (cambioBR) and Nigeria (cambioNGR).
- Spread and Conversion Controls — Dynamic rate adjustments (conversão, popupConversão) allowing operators to peg exchange spreads to live market benchmarks.
- Entity Management and Financial Audits — Granular customer directory (clientes), administrative staff controls, support chat threads, and recharge/payment balance sheets.
Brand identity and early motion design
Beyond the product UI, I authored the brand system: four logo variations, typography, spacing hierarchies, and custom geometric surface patterns (Texturas and Pattern) — the only project in this portfolio featuring bespoke surface textures. For the marketing site, I designed an interactive hero motion component in Figma (header_component 2999:36597) that astonished the client during presentation, marking the inception of my motion design capabilities.
I flagged before we started that the Nigerian banking license would likely be denied — I use Wise daily and knew Nigeria was unsupported for that exact reason. The client went ahead anyway. We shipped the app, and the venture collapsed when the license never came.
Commercial judgement and production realities
Banco Lucrativo represents a critical demonstration of commercial product judgement. A designer is not merely an executor of visual requests; understanding market viability and regulatory context is paramount. The product shipped and proved the design was technically sound, and the agency later reused 300 of these 302 frames to scaffold an in-house FX platform (CâmbioFlow) — validating the architectural durability of the component system.
Evidence
Shipped to production and launched live as the second confirmed deployed product in the Sagitta agency corpus. However, the business ultimately folded because the client failed to secure the necessary commercial banking license to operate in Nigeria. I had personally identified and flagged this market-viability risk prior to project kickoff, observing that major global remittance services like Wise did not support Nigerian corridors for that exact regulatory constraint. The venture proceeded on faith and collapsed on that precise risk.
